Mercy (The un-dragoning) |
Lyrics: J. Mauritzson
Music: B. Nikolausson & M. Tärnfors |
|
I am not gonna hide this time
Leaving the lair, I lay myself bare
Lord, peel the dragon skin off of me
I want to be real
But I cannot do it alone
CHORUS
Here in the presence of you
I fi nd the strength to be true
[I’m laying down my life before you]
I lift my hands to the sky
Your mercy pouring down
I’m alive and shaking
A miracle in making
VERSE 2
Deep is the wound, deep the pain
But deeper still is the need you fi ll
Baptized in holy waters so clear
The Spirit’s in me
In my weakness Christ, you are near
B CHORUS
In the presence of You
Gonna lay down my life
Everything is made new through You
I know
Inspiration:
A friend of mine pointed me to this passage in the Narnia Chronicles (The Voyage of the
DawnTreader) where the experience of coming to know Christ as Savior is symbolized
by the boy Eustace his dragon skin by Aslan. It’s such a great metaphor. - JM
Titus 3:4-7
