Charizma to represent Swedish pop on compilation |
12/09/2005 |
Charizma was recently picked by STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society) as one of the acts to represent Swedish pop on their annual compilation of contemporary Swedish music. The band is one of 26 acts, among them well-known artists like Timbukt, Moneybrother, Christian Walz and Eskobar. Charizma got their hit "Where do you go?" on the CD. The collection "Music from STIM" contains 2 CD's, one with pop and rock, and one with jazz and folk music.
"It's always great when people take notice of your music, but this is special. To be chosen with som many great acts to choose from... It's awesome" says Thomas Karlsson, one of the songwriters.
Johan Mauritzson, songwriter and singer:
"Right now we are in the process of writing songs for an upcoming album. It has not been easy this time around, actually quite the opposite. It's been kind of a slow process and I myself have been experiencing writer's block for a few months. I guess when you have had a few hits, you kinda start analyzing what you did right with those songs and to some extent try to copy that. That didn't work at all. Not until I decided to let the music have it's own way I got back on track. So, right now we are recording about 25 demos and then our record company will pick 11-12 of those songs. I can't wait to see what will happen this time. We're aiming for the sky..."
