Charizma recording for Wes King Tribute!
November 30, 2005
Charizma has been invited to record a song for the Wes King Tribute "Life is precious".
It's been more than two years since the highly successful album "Life in 3D" that took Charizma to the Top 3 position on the Swedish mainstream sales charts with the single "Waiting (Here for you). The album was rewarded Swedish album of the year and the track was voted song of the year at the christian Connection Awards.
Now the band is back, recording a track for the Wes King Tribute - "Life is Precios". Charizma was asked to do "Common Creed" which is one of Wes' biggest hits to date. Wes King is a successfull artist who has also written songs for artists like Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. The Life Is Precious: A Wes King Tribute project was birthed out of the desire to both encourage and raise money for Wes King as he recovers from lymphoma (a form of cancer). Concerned artists are recording their favorite Wes King tracks for this double-disc tribute project. All of the artists, producers, engineers, musicians and studios have graciously donated their time and talents to the creation of this tribute to Wes King and his music. Among those artists are Swedish band Charizma!

ADDING SOME EURO-POP TO THE MIX Says executive producer and freelance A&R Craig Mason: "I've been a fan of Charizma for years and as I was choosing artists for the Wes King Tribute project, I knew that Charizma's blend of fun Euro-pop and Rock would give the project a lift. Their recording of Wes King's "Common Creed" far exceeded my expectations, they managed to keep the songs original passion while adding their Charizma signature sound."
"Since I've listened a lot to Wes' music, I know "Common Creed" is one of his biggest hits. It's an honor to get to participate in this and I think we managed to make the song our own. It's a great up-tempo sing with lots of harmonies, keyboards and acoustic guitars. We hope we can in some small way help Wes with the things he is going through at this time" says Johan Mauritzson, Charizma lead singer. "It also feels really good to be back in the studio again" says drummer Jan Nikolausson. "This has been a great way to start the recordings that will continue throughout the year. We are recording a new album and we are excited to share the new stuff we've been working on for quite some time."

The CD "Life Is Precious - A Wes King Tribute" is independently realeased. The CD release date for online sales is February 14th. You can be sure to get the album by placing your order at www.wesking.com.
Other artists include: Downhere - Excavate • Derek Webb - I Believe • Phil Keaggy - Getting Used To The Darkness • Paul Colman - What Matters Most/Holy Ghost • Scott Krippayne - Lazarus • The Kry - Hold On • Cheri Keaggy - Life Is Precious • Kim Hill - By His Wounds

Charizma to represent Swedish pop on compilation
September 12, 2005
Charizma was recently picked by STIM (Swedish Performing Rights Society) as one of the acts to represent Swedish pop on their annual compilation of contemporary Swedish music. The band is one of 26 acts, among them well-known artists like Timbukt, Moneybrother, Christian Walz and Eskobar. Charizma got their hit "Where do you go?" on the CD.
The collection "Music from STIM" contains 2 CD's, one with pop and rock, and one with jazz and folk music.
"It's always great when people take notice of your music, but this is special. To be chosen with som many great acts to choose from... It's awesome" says Thomas Karlsson, one of the songwriters.
Johan Mauritzson, songwriter and singer: "Right now we are in the process of writing songs for an upcoming album. It has not been easy this time around, actually quite the opposite. It's been kind of a slow process and I myself have been experiencing writer's block for a few months. I guess when you have had a few hits, you kinda start analyzing what you did right with those songs and to some extent try to copy that. That didn't work at all. Not until I decided to let the music have it's own way I got back on track. So, right now we are recording about 25 demos and then our record company will pick 11-12 of those songs. I can't wait to see what will happen this time. We're aiming for the sky..."
